Many value and arbitrage betting tools are paid and heavily promoted as a way to gain an edge.

What’s your experience with paid value and arbitrage betting tools?
Are they worth paying for, or mostly overrated?

In the survey, I voted “depends.”
A distinction must be made between value betting and arbitrage betting tools.

Let's be honest, ANY value betting tool will not work, and the only purpose of this type of software is to make money for its owner. In fact, there is not the slightest argument for why it should work. But it sounds good in marketing terms to use the term “value,” and novice players buy into it. It doesn't work, EVER. I created various accounts of this type, such as rebel betting and others, for testing purposes, and it's a bit like buying dreams.

As for arbitrage betting software, it can be useful to a very limited extent. It can only be useful at the beginning of the arbitrage betting journey, when the player is learning. The problem with such software is that basically no one will benefit from it, because after one or two people place such a bet, the odds go down and there is nothing left for the next players to look for. You have to develop your own tactics for finding arbitrage bets.

So in 95% of cases, it is completely pointless.

It's not worth it. With today's technology, bookmakers and their lines are too fast.
It's worth improving your betting skills yourself.

In the past, it might have been worth something (I'm talking about arbitrage tools). However, today, with sharp lines and many willing participants, it no longer works, except perhaps for the first player who bets what the system shows (if they manage to place a counter bet). As for Valuebets, as in rebelbetting and others, it is completely pointless. It is just a different, more technical name to make it sound more serious (just marketing), and it is just a regular betting tips service. Anyone can decide whether a bet has value or not.

I don't deny that it may be useful for some people, but he believes that in the case of Valuebets, such solutions have no mathematical basis. A Valuebet is a SUBJECTIVE value, never an OBJECTIVE one. Therefore, it is impossible for such software to guarantee a profit. Another problem is performance, i.e., rapid drops in odds (this applies to both valuebet and arbitrage betting software), which means that virtually no one will benefit from it.

I vote “it depends” in the survey. I believe that advanced players should estimate value in their own specialty themselves. It may be useful to a (small) extent for beginners, but it should be treated as a broad education rather than a long-term strategy. There is something to what was said above, that it is often the same as a betting tip service, only presented as if it were something different, less controversial.
